Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

PEI PNP EXPRESS ENTRY:

The program is aligned to the federal Express Entry. As the first step of the application, candidates who have an active Express Entry profile can register their Expression of Interest with the PEI PNP. The candidates who have expressed their interest will be assessed based on a number of factors to allocate a score. They are ranked based on this score, and the highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for provincial nomination.

BUSINESS IMPACT

100% OWNERSHIP

You become eligible for 100% control of business either through the outright purchase of an existing business or by starting a new business in Prince Edward Island.

PARTIAL OWNERSHIP

You can become a part of the Prince Edward Island business community by owning a business in partnership.

WORK PERMIT

Another option for you to start a business in PEI is to come to the province on a work permit under the Work Permit program and learn in detail about the business that you are going to invest in. Later, you will be able to apply for a provincial nomination.

LABOUR IMPACT

SKILLED WORKER

To be eligible, you need to have a valid job offer from an eligible Prince Edward Island employer. Your job must be categorized as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B. You also need to have a post-secondary degree or diploma and experience in the intended profession.

CRITICAL WORKER

To be eligible, you need to have a valid job offer from an eligible Prince Edward Island employer. Your job must be categorized as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level C or D. The job offer must be in one of the five eligible industries– truck drivers, customer service representatives, labourers, food and beverage servers, and housekeeping attendants. Besides, you need to have a minimum of 12 years of education and relevant work experience.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE

You can apply under this category if you have recently graduated from a recognized, accredited PEI university or college. You need to have a valid job offer from the employer for whom you have already worked for at least six months on a valid post-graduate work permit. Besides, your job must be classified as National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST SYSTEM

PEI introduced the Expression of Interest system for all PEI PNP streams on January 25, 2018. Those eligible may submit an Expression of Interest, which is then assessed and ranked based on eligibility factors. Those with the highest ranks are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

The ranking systems of PEI Express Entry stream, the Business Impact Category, and the Labour Impact Category are different from one another.
